letter from the chairman slide

Hello Team Chrissy Supporters,
We are well into 2016 and I am happy to let everyone know that after a relatively quiet 2015 for us, we are excited about helping out the MS community in the Chicagoland area in 2016. We are extremely proud of our efforts to help out individuals who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. We donated a stair lift to a family that desperately needed one but could not afford it.

Our main 2015 focus was our Canes from Chrissy program. What started as a program to have individuals decorate blank canes for us to give out free of charge to anyone in need of a cane and followed with the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago, has grown tremendously. In 2015 we were proud to partner with many groups and organizations as they helped out Team Chrissy by decorating canes. We had canes decorated by the Teen Bridge Center in Orland Park, the Skokie Library as part of their celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the B.R Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn as part of a Community Service project, the Maine-Niles Association for Special Recreation as a project involving individuals with a variety of physical disabilities, and the Sigma Alpha Sorority at the University of Illinois as part of their service project during their February retreat. We would like to THANK these organizations from the bottom of our hearts for their help and assistance and we look forward to their continued participation as well as additional organizations willing to help us out. Please visit the Canes from Chrissy tab on the website to view all of the decorated canes as well as to reserve a cane if you are in need of one.

Please look for us at the Abilities Expo in Schaumburg, IL on June 24-26, 2016. We will have a booth there to talk about Team Chrissy as well as hand out all the decorated canes that we have received. These canes are free of charge for anyone who may need one. You can also pick up a blank cane and help us decorate them.

We are also holding our annual Candlelight Bowling Fundraiser on Saturday June 11, 2016. This year the fundraiser is being held at Oak Forest Bowl. It will be from 7PM – 10PM. We are excited to announce that in addition to the bowling and food, there will also be a bag tournament. Please look at the bowling flyer in the events tab on the website.

Team Chrissy’s main goal is to help out individuals who suffer from MS. We are in looking for an individual or family in need that we can sponsor a benefit for. We have a date set aside in October 22, 2016 at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park. If you know of anyone who can use our assistance, please contact any member of the board of Team Chrissy.

Thank you for your support and if you have any questions at any time, please email me or call me at (708) 770-9331. Also, if you know of anyone who might benefit from our foundation, please direct them to our website for more information.
